ashtanga yoga
This method of yoga involves the coordination of breath, bandha and dristi (deep yogic breathing, internal core/pelvic floor engagement and specific gazing points) with a progressive and prescribed series of postures. When such synchronization takes place a deep internal heat is produced and flushes out toxins from the body. This method has also been described as ‘meditation in motion’. It is dynamic and strong. hatha yoga (sivananda)
Sivananda Yoga is a more physically gentle and meditative method of yoga and consists of pranayama (breathing exercises), 12 classic postures and guided relaxation. This method is a great introduction to yoga for beginners; and is also challenging for the experienced practitioner.
